The District’s Fox affiliate, WTTG Fox 5, is launching a true-crime podcast set to debut Wednesday morning. Hosted by Sarah Fraser, “The Mansion Murders: FOX 5 True Crime Podcast” will take a look back at the notorious murders of the Savopoulos family and their housekeeper, Vera Figueroa. The bodies of Figueroa, Savvas Savopoulos, Amy Savopoulos and their son Philip were discovered Mary 14, 2015, at their home in Northwest after their killer fled with $40,000 in ransom money, but not before setting the house on fire.

Daron Wint, now 26, is awaiting trial for the murders, and is expected to go on trial in September 2018, according to WTTG. “The Mansion Murders” will feature an interview with Mr. Wint’s sister, Samantha, who has never yet spoken to the press.

New episodes of the podcast will be released every Wednesday at 7 a.m. during “Fox 5 News Morning.” Previous coverage of the case is available at Fox5DC.com/podcast, and viewers can also join a Facebook discussion group.

The six-part podcast will feature interviews with Richard Ross, Savvas Savopoulos’ former business partner and friend. Washington Post reporter Roxanne Roberts, who covered the case and its aftermath, will also discuss her research on the Savopoulos family.

According to WTOP, the remains of the home on Woodland Drive in Northwest where the Savopoulos family lived was demolished beginning in April. The lot of the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house sold for $3 million after the killings, well under its previous value.

A preview of “The Mansion Murders” is available at Fox5DC.com.
