No. 5 Oklahoma (1-0) at No. 2 Ohio State (1-0), Saturday 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)

Line: Ohio State by 7½.

Series record: Ohio State leads 2-1.

Even though it’s early, a loss for either top-10 team could put a crimp in national championship hopes. The Sooners will have revenge on their minds after Ohio State came to Norman in the third game of last season and rolled 45-24. The Buckeyes must iron out some inconsistencies that led to a slow, mistake-filled start last week against unranked Indiana.

Oklahoma offensive line vs. Ohio State defensive line. The Sooners return all five starters up front and seven total players who saw at least one start last year. Preseason All-America OT Orlando Brown was Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. The Buckeyes have one of the best defensive lines in the country, led by DEs Tyquan Lewis, Sam Hubbard and Nick Bosa.

Oklahoma: QB Baker Mayfield. A Heisman finalist last year, Mayfield is a fifth-year player who doesn’t get rattled. Mayfield says he learned from last year’s failures in the Ohio State game in which he threw two interceptions. He has never lost a true road game in two seasons at Oklahoma.

Ohio State: RB J.K. Dobbins. The freshman enjoyed a terrific welcome to college football against Indiana last week, rushing for 181 yards on 29 carries. He started the game because last year’s 1,000-yard rusher, Mike Weber, was still nursing a hamstring injury. Coach Urban Meyer said Weber will be ready to go against Oklahoma and both could play.

The 34-year-old Riley, who took over when Bob Stoops retired, is the youngest head coach in the FBS … Oklahoma hasn’t lost a game since falling to the Buckeyes last season. Its 11-game winning streak is longest in the country. … Oklahoma hasn’t played in Columbus in 40 years, when the No. 3 Sooners beat No. 4 Ohio State 29-28. … The Buckeyes are 16-4 in night games at Ohio Stadium. … The Buckeyes (.724) are No. 3 and Sooners No. 5 (.721) in all-time winning percentage. … The Sooners lost backup CB Jordan Parker to a season-ending injury against UTEP.
