Maryland football great LaMont Jordan will join the Maryland Sports Radio Network this year as a color analyst for Terrapins football games, the athletics department announced.

Jordan, the program’s all-time leading rusher with 4,147 yards from 1997 to 2000, joins play-by-play voice Johnny Holliday and replaces Tim Strachan, who stepped down from the color position after 22 years.

The former running back, who played nine seasons in the NFL for the Jets, Raiders, Patriots and Broncos, was also named to the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

“The University of Maryland has always held a special place in my heart and to be back on campus and working directly with the program is a dream come true,” Jordan said in a statement. “I hope that I can bring a unique perspective to the listening audience and I’m excited for the 2018 season to get underway.”
