, (AP) — Ynmanol Marinez hit a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning to help lead the DSL Marlins to a 7-6 win over the DSL Royals1 in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
The single by Marinez scored Julio Machado and Dalvy Rosario. The single came after an RBI single by Rosario that gave the DSL Marlins the lead earlier in the inning.
DSL Royals1 attempted a comeback in the bottom of the inning, scoring on an RBI single by Guillermo Quintana and an RBI double by Jose Florian. However, the rally ended when Geremy Galindez got Frank Herrera to ground out with runners on second and third to end the game.
Galindez (3-3) got the win in relief while Cruz Noriega (2-2) took the loss in the Dominican Summer League game.
Florian was a triple short of the cycle, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two for the DSL Royals1.
