OPINION:
No one has the right to enter your home without an invitation. In most states, a homeowner has the right to kill an intruder. Similarly, no one has a right to simply enter the United States.
The 6,000-person “caravan” from Central America that is trying to illegally enter the United States is larger than an Army brigade, or about half the size of an Army division. An invasion is defined as an incursion by a large number of people or things into a place or sphere of activity, or an unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain. I think 6,000 people is large, but many on the left seem to consider it to be a small crowd of no concern.
Terrorist groups such as al Qaeda and the Islamic State use civilians as human shields. The people trying to cross our southern border are using like tactics by putting women and children in front to create news stories about the brutality of our border patrol guards. Yet many “migrants” are throwing rocks at our border personnel.
We have a legal right to defend our borders. Our guards must be allowed to use lethal force if all else fails in order to stop illegal entry as well as to defend themselves. This sounds inhumane, but after 30 or so invaders are killed this behavior will stop.
The border wall must be akin to what East Germany had from the 1950s to the 1980s. After crossing the first barrier, trespassers will be entering a free-fire zone, and there will be mines as an additional deterrent. Right now people climb and sit on our border walls with impunity.
