ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) - A recycling center in Rock Springs might close soon if it doesn’t get more funding.

Directors of the Ray Lovato Recycling Center say it may need to cease operations April 26.

The Rock Springs Rocket-Miner reports the center has been providing community recycling services to Rock Springs since 1994.

The city of Rock Springs has provided the center with financial and in-kind support totaling $85,000 per year.

Sweetwater County Solid Waste District No. 1 terminated funding in 2016, costing the center $110,000 per year. Some of that funding has resumed but center officials say not nearly enough to cover costs.
