COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say a woman who was shot and wounded last month while trying to break into a Columbus home has died.

The Columbus police homicide unit says 48-year-old Twyla Marie Dillard, of Columbus, died Friday at a hospital.

Police say Dillard was violating a civil protection order filed against her when she tried to enter the home around 2 a.m. July 19. She was taken to a Columbus hospital in critical condition.

Police have not said who shot Dillard that night or what her relationship was to the shooter.
