The Democrats and career bureaucrats in the federal government are learning that the president of the United States has the ultimate authority in the executive branch of government. The deep-state lifers have their own agenda and they are finding out the hard way that the president has the ultimate authority to assert his own agenda.

The president has this authority even in the military arm of the government, which was recently evident in the case of Eddie Gallagher. The president intervened to restore Gallagher’s Navy SEAL status and Trident Pin so Gallagher could retire with full benefits and status.

What we have learned from the impeachment hearings and the testimonies of the witnesses who form the permanent deep-state bureaucracy is that there is a major struggle going on between the president and his policies, and the permanent bureaucracy and their policies. The president has the full authority to supersede the bureaucracy with his own policies and implementation strategies. This is not an abuse of power by the president, as the Democrats have stated, but rather the exercise of legitimate power vested in the president.
