In his piece “Trump impeachment: Undisputed evidence that he abused his power” (Web, Dec. 18), Andrew P. Napolitano accuses the president of committing crimes. Is the judge aware that the Mueller report and the House of Representatives’ articles of impeachment do not accuse the president of committing a crime?

Mr. Napolitano also claims that “we have undisputed evidence that he [Trump] abused his power by inviting a foreign government to interfere in the 2020 presidential election ” That statement is in fact disputed by the evidence, the transcript of the phone conversation and statements by the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.

I wonder if Mr. Napolitano, given his apparent intense dislike and disapproval of President Trump, has allowed his imagination to influence his writing. I hope that, as a judge, he relied on facts and was not influenced by his personal dislikes.
