ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating two separate shootings involving police officers.

Spokeswoman Leslie Earhart told news outlets that one shooting occurred Friday morning in East Tennessee near the Sevierville-Pigeon Forge city limits. The agency said 18-year-old Johnathon A. Sellers was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Pigeon Forge Police Chief Richard Catlett said the incident started with a police pursuit and ended in Sevierville when officers disabled the vehicle. He said the suspect emerged with a gun, and officers fired.

Bureau spokesman Josh DeVine said the agency also is investigating another shooting that occurred Thursday evening when a Cheatham County sheriff’s deputy shot a man in the arm. Details on that shooting weren’t immediately released, but DeVine said the man is expected to recover.
