EAST LAMPETER, Pa. (AP) - A lengthy police pursuit that included state troopers shooting at the driver ended when the man crashed in a lumber yard and was subdued with a stun gun.
The 45-minute chase started around 3:30 a.m. Monday when East Lampeter police tried to stop the vehicle driven by a 39-year-old Coatesville man. But authorities say the man instead sped away.
Officers eventually tried to block the vehicle in at a convenience store, but authorities say the car hit a state police cruiser and moved toward a trooper. The man then drove off as troopers shot at the car, but he soon crashed in a lumber yard in Landisville.
Authorities say the driver then attempted to hit officers with a thick board, but was subdued with a stun gun.
