The Washington Redskins won’t trade the No. 2 pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft, according to a new report.
The NFL Network reported that Redskins coach Ron Rivera and his team have decided to make their selection instead of deal it to another team for a package of picks. The Redskins had previously received calls about a potential deal, but rebuffed offers.
On Wednesday, Rivera told The Washington Times that the Redskins would have a self-imposed deadline for other teams interested in making a trade, saying they wouldn’t make a move unless an agreement was reached before the start of the first round.
Barring a major upset, the Redskins are expected to take Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young.
The #Redskins have received calls from teams about potentially trading up to No. 2. But they’ve made a decision, and sources say no trade. They are making the pick… because they love the player who will be there for them.
