WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A homeless man whose body was found under a bridge apparently was beaten to death, Wichita police said.

The body of a black man who appeared to be in his 60s was found Monday afternoon.

Capt. Jason Stephens said the man had blunt force injuries to his body, KSN reports.

“It appears that he was beaten,” Capt. Stephens said. “He could have been there as long as a day perhaps.”

The investigation into the man’s identity and what occurred continues.

The death is the seventh homicide in Wichita this year.
