Taking out Qassem Soleimani was brilliant and long-overdue action by President Trump. The president is right not to brief Congress on top-secret sources and methods in order to protect the ability to take such an action again. Soleimani was a commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and was planning new attacks. He had the blood of many Americans and Muslims on his hands while serving from 1996 until his death in 2020 and was the commander of the Quds Force.

Mr. Trump demonstrated great leadership and was right to take out the Iranian number-two terrorist coordinating operations and attacking the U.S. embassy and our troops in Iraq. Since the Iranian-hardliner demands for revenge and the Jan. 7 firing from Iran of about 20 ballistic missiles against joint bases in Iraq reportedly resulted in no friendly casualties, Mr. Trump and Secretary of Stte Mike Pompeo have had time to determine the appropriate military and economic response.

Democratic politicians and the liberal media are working against the American people and unjustly supporting our enemies at a time of war. The war with Iran has continued since 1979, after President Jimmy Carter’s overthrow of the shah of Iran and his ushering in of the radical-Islamic terrorist mullahs. The Iranian terror was perpetuated by President Obama, who often supported Iran, made a bad nuclear deal with it and unjustly gave back $150 billion to the mullahs, who used the money to sponsor global terror and mayhem.
