PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a man has been charged in the murder of a man gunned down in his family’s south Philadelphia corner grocery store earlier this month and with the slaying of a teenager last fall.
Police say 18-year-old Tyseem Murray was charged Friday with murder, criminal conspiracy, robbery and related counts in the Jan. 7 shooting at JD Hoyu Grocery store.
A customer found 31-year-old Xiaoding Li lying behind the counter in the store, which is owned by his father. Police said he had been shot in the chest and died shortly afterward at a hospital.
Police say Murray has also been charged with the Oct. 14 murder of 15-year-old Zyqueire Echevarria, which also occurred in south Philadelphia. Court documents don’t list a defense attorney and a listed number for Murray couldn’t be found Tuesday.
