The father who killed the teenage Oregon school shooter said he heard children pleading for their lives, then gunfire, as he army-crawled through Silver Rail Elementary School.
A week after the Oct. 15 shooting at the school in Bend, Oregon, where a 16-year-old killed three children and a teacher, Kaylub Giamanco told Oregon Public Broadcasting in an interview published Friday that he followed the 16-year-old gunman inside and shot him.
Three children, ages 5, 8 and 11, and one teacher were killed, and a 7-year-old and a 54-year-old teacher were hospitalized in critical condition.

“I started hearing children pleading for their lives, and then I started hearing gunfire, and I just started army-crawling faster and faster, and I just told myself, ‘This is probably the last thing that I’m ever gonna do,’” he said.
