HAMAR, Pa. (AP) - A suspected drunk driver allegedly drove into oncoming traffic, leading to a police pursuit that ended with her ramming into an officer’s car.

Michele Sweet turned into the wrong lane while driving in Harmar, and missed the patrol car summoned to look for her Saturday night, police said.

Harmar police officer Ryan Valasek pursued Sweet, who eventually drove over a barrier and came to a stop on the Russellton Road bridge overpass. Valasek pulled his patrol car in front of her vehicle, according to arrest papers.

Sweet then drove into the police car and continued to rev her engine until it stalled out, The Pittsburgh Tribune Review reported.

Sweet is charged with drunken driving, fleeing and attempting to elude police, and other charges. The results of a blood test to check Sweet’s blood-alcohol levels were not available yet.

Sweet’s attorney was not available for comment.
