JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have identified the victim of Wednesday’s shooting in Jefferson City, but say they have no new information on the suspect in the case.
Officers responding to calls found a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the roadway. The Jefferson City Police Department in a news release identified the victim Thursday as Demond Jones of Jefferson City.
Police provided medical attention until emergency medical services arrived to take him to a local hospital, where he was stabilized. He succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Columbia for further treatment, police said.
No one has been arrested for the shooting, and Crimestoppers has offered a $500 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
