Georgetown coach and Hall of Fame NBA center Patrick Ewing told “The Dan Patrick Show” that the 1984 national championship ring he won with the Hoyas and his two Olympic medals were stolen in a break-in years ago.

Ewing won two gold medals with Team USA at the 1984 and 1992 Summer Olympics, the latter as part of the Dream Team. It’s the first time Ewing revealed anything about the theft.

“My house got broken into in New York, at one point, and I think they stole my medals,” Ewing said. “So I called [former USA Basketball chairman] Jerry Colangelo, and he was great to be able to get me two replacement medals.”

As for the college championship ring, which he earned as the star center of the talented 1983-84 Hoyas team, Ewing said he saw it turn up on eBay and was able to get it back.

“Sometimes, it’s tough to be well-known,” he said with a laugh.
