Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin said Monday there is no escaping the “Make America Great Again” politics of Donald Trump moving forward.

The ladies of ABC’s “The View” worried that Mr. Trump will either succeed in a “coup” as his election fight makes its way through the legal system, or he will live to fight another day through the resilience of “MAGA” politics.

“This is an attempted coup,” Ms. Goldberg said. “This is what dictators do when they want to take a country away from its people.”

Ms. Goldberg’s comments came in conjunction with good news for the president — his legal team’s request for the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to hear its Pennsylvania legal challenge in an expedited manner was granted.

A lower court judge in the state dismissed Mr. Trump’s voter fraud case over the weekend.

Ms. Goldberg warned her audience that Mr. Trump will “have taken the country” in the near future unless officials “step up” and oppose the Republican’s legal challenges.

The president has vowed to take his battle for all legal votes to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“I think Trumpism is here to stay, quite frankly,” Ms. Hostin said. “Over 70 million people voted for him in spite of the fact they knew he was racist, and misogynist, transphobic, homophobic, and they voted for him anyway. It just seems to me that people’s hearts and minds don’t change that quickly, and if we stop talking about President Trump, then, you know, I’m always fearful that past becomes prologue, right?”

Ms. Hostin then mulled the possibility that someone “smoother around the edges” who subscribed to Mr. Trump’s political philosophy would be elected in the future.
