Fox News Books was only launched in October as a new publishing platform for the cable news channel. The new imprint, however, has already rattled the Amazon bestseller list with its debut book “Modern Warriors: Real Stories from Real Heroes,” a salute to some of the bravest Americans from Pete Hegseth, a Fox News weekend co-host and a decorated combat veteran himself.

Mr. Hegseth’s new book was published Tuesday and immediately rose to No. 2 on the Amazon list — bested only by “A Promised Land,” a 768-page memoir by former President Barack Obama.

Mr. Hegseth’s book — which features the first-hand stories of combat veterans from every branch of the military — currently remains in the overall top-10, and is ranked No 1 among military histories and military biographies.

“My heart goes back to the men I served with on the battlefield. These men are the real 1% of America — the warriors who are willing to put their lives on the line for me, for their brothers, and for our freedom. Sure, there are lots of everyday heroes in our lives; but our combat troops are extraordinary heroes, leaving their lives, families and future on the line for Americans they will never meet,” Mr. Hegseth told The Washington Times.

Fox News Books is allied with HarperCollins Publishers, the second-largest book publisher in the world with operations in 17 countries. The next author up is “Fox News at Night” host Shannon Bream, currently at work on an inspirational book celebrating women of the Bible, ready in the spring of 2021.

The network will also produce a companion program on the same subject.
