BEL AIR, Md. (AP) - An Aberdeen man has been arrested in connection with a road rage incident during which a gun was pointed at a motorist and their passenger, Maryland State Police said Wednesday
A news release from police says Robert Hays Salsbery, 46, is facing multiple charges, including first-degree assault and firearms use in a felony-violent crime.
According to investigators, a motorist driving a Volkswagen and with a passenger were traveling in the area of U.S. 40 and Joppa Farm Road in Joppa on Tuesday. The driver swerved to avoid a pothole and cut off Salsbery in the process, police said. Salsbery pulled up next to the motorist in his Chevrolet SUV and pointed a handgun at them before speeding off, according to police.
The victim contacted police who later located Salsbery in Harford County, where troopers arrested him without incident. A Ruger .380 caliber handgun was recovered inside Salsbery’s vehicle, police said.
Salsbery is being held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center. It’s not known if he has an attorney, and officials say additional charges are pending a review with the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office.
