STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi city will end its current recycling program Oct. 1.

The Starkville Board of Aldermen voted this week to suspend recycling indefinitely because its contractor had raised the price, news outlets report.

Mayor Lynn Spruill said the city is talking with Mississippi State University about whether its campus recycling program could be expanded to include Starkville residents.
