“If I say to the wicked man, ‘You shall surely die;’ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his wicked conduct so that he may live: that wicked man shall die for his sin, but I will hold you responsible for his death.”(Ezek. 3:17)

I don’t think Joe Biden is a wicked man; but he supports wicked and evil policies by giving tacit approval to tearing children limb from limb in their mother’s womb. If a man can’t be faithful to his own faith, what integrity does he have? Mr. Biden is a Catholic, and claims to be a devout Catholic, but he has betrayed his Catholic faith with his support for abortion and flip-flopping on the Hyde Amendment. Abortion is not health care.

Does he think God will “understand” that an “important” man like Joe Biden can be a Catholic on Sunday and support infanticide the other six days of the week? Is God so impressed by Mr. Biden’s “importance,” as to give him a “pass” on enabling millions of child murders, as he and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi do? (Mrs. Pelosi also boasts of her Catholic faith and yet refused to allow bills to protect infants born alive after a “botched” abortion more than 80 times.) This is an insult to God.

The presidential election of 1992 was won by the Catholic vote. On his first day in office, Bill Clinton, kicked the Catholic Church in the teeth when he overturned all the strides made to protect the unborn. Mr. Clinton was reelected in 1996, thanks to the “Catholic” vote.

In 2000, we would not have had the nail-biter results of the election had Catholics voted according to Catholic moral principles.

Thankfully, the eventual victor of the 2000 election was a believing Christian who restored the original safeguards for the unborn, especially the vitally important Mexico City Policy, which prohibits American taxpayer money from funding overseas abortions.

The first two elections represented a defeat for child protection and the third, a very close call, thanks to misguided Catholic voters is, in a word, a disgrace. A dis-grace.

Of course, many Catholics know this and disregard it. But those of us blessed with the gift of orthodox Catholic faith cannot keep our mouths shut anymore. We must stop waiting to hear it from the pulpit or for bishops to pronounce excommunications. “Catholics” who support abortion already have their own brand of excommunication. They may attend Mass, but are not allowed to receive Communion.

(For Dick Durbin, who, during the Senate Judiciary hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017, boasted of having many years of Catholic education, but famously admitted he never heard the term “orthodox Catholic.” An orthodox Catholic, Sen. Durbin, as opposed to a “cafeteria Catholic,” is one who understands, accepts, agrees with and, yes, loves Catholic teachings. They dine on the rich fare at the Great Banquet, rather than on the cheap grub in the cafeteria.)

Catholics should be aware that, yes, you can, and sometimes must, be a single-issue voter when that single issue trumps all others.

The Vatican said: “It must in any case be clearly understood that whatever may be laid down by civil law in this matter, man can never obey a law which is in itself immoral, and such is the case of a law which would admit in principle the liceity of abortion. Nor can he take part in a propaganda campaign in favor of such a law, or vote for it.” (Declaration on Procured Abortion; Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; Nov. 18, 1974; No. 22, cited by St. John Pau II in Evangelium Vitae, (The Gospel of Life), No. 25, March 1995)

Then it was further clarified: “[T]hose who are directly involved in lawmaking bodies have a ‘grave and clear obligation to oppose’ any law that attacks human life. For them, as for every Catholic, it is impossible to promote such laws or to vote for them.” (Emphasis added. Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Nov. 24, 2002, Doctrinal Note on some questions regarding the participation of Catholics in Political Life.)

The U.S. Bishops stated: “The threat of abortion remains our preeminent priority because it directly attacks life itself because it takes place within the sanctuary of the family and because of the number of lives destroyed.” (Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility, Nov. 12, 2019, Introductory Letter.)

Population controllers, Malthusians, abortion exporters and those forcing sterilization and contraception on the poor in developing nations, working through the United Nations, governments and nongovernmental organizations, have been stalled by the current U.S. administration, but they will be poised and ready to move should the next presidential election go their way. That is, for Joe Biden. It is they, not the Catholic Church, who police people’s bedrooms, not to mention telling people how many children to have, or governing your children’s sexual development.

I have seen this crowd up close and I know the vast majority of the American people have no idea how evil and vicious — wicked — their agenda really is, and what they have coming down the pike. The results of this crowd finding a friend — again — in the White House would be catastrophic. This is the hierarchy of the Culture of Death and for Catholic voters to usher it in would be a profound tragedy, counting not only in numbers of lives lost, but in souls.
