ANALYSIS/OPINION:
The lawlessness perpetrated at the U.S. Capitol last week should be strongly condemned; it was reprehensible. Equally reprehensible, however, is the newly discovered righteousness of the Democrats and their obsequious myrmidons in the “lamestream” media and Big Tech.
Suddenly these parties are aghast at violent protests. Why? Because they were committed by President Trump’s supporters. Yet these same groups were silent for months on end as left-wing mobs burned, looted, murdered and pillaged cities from coast to coast. Indeed, the media and Big Tech condoned, encouraged and even praised the actions of Antifa and other leftist Jacobins.
Every Republican has voiced his or her denunciation of last week’s events, but in the past year not a single prominent Democrat has seen fit to decry the unbridled mayhem that has swept across the country. A device to measure their level of their hypocrisy has yet to be invented. Yes, Mr. Trump deserves a share of the blame for the Capitol violence, but equally culpable are the Democrats: Biden, Pelosi, Harris, Schumer, Cuomo, et al, and their media apparatchiks.
Their approbation of the rampage and terror by left-wing fanatics and the lack of consequences subsequent thereto these past several months assuredly contributed to last Wednesday’s violence. No matter the group, protests that turn violent are never acceptable — but there is only one side that seems willing to say so.
