OPINION:
Under the Court of King’s Bench, a judge could summarily dismiss any litigation in the colonies without any reason given. These actions outraged the colonists, as did being forced to travel to a loyalist province to have a case heard.
Under the U.S. Constitution, however, a citizen has a right to seek redress in a court of law. As such, a citizen has a right to be told by the public servant court why their litigation was refused.
Under the Constitution, if you have a right to seek redress, you have a right to know why that right is denied to you, and you have the right to try to correct any defects therein.
