The current administration is misleading the American people on a number of subjects, not the least of which is the Second Amendment. Our Founders fought long and hard for our independence from the tyrannical king of England, and feared that at some point our own new government might become tyrannical, too. Indeed, we have been headed that way for some years now, as the federal government moves in on our personal freedoms and states’ rights.

The Second Amendment is meant to guarantee that we, the American people, have the means to fight our own government if and when necessary. The words “shall not be infringed” are meant to insure that the people may own any and all weapons available to our government — without restriction.

When the Constitution was written, hunting and defense of family and self were taken for granted. It was the need for freedom from government which was considered most important and which required our right to keep and bear arms. No law restricting gun ownership is constitutional.

Many Americans are ignorant of the above information, and that is the intention of the political left.
