The University of Maryland men’s and women’s lacrosse teams are both two wins away from NCAA championships.
The Terrapins men’s team continued its undefeated season Sunday with an 18-9 win over Virginia in the quarterfinals. With a 16-0 record, the top-seeded Terrapins will play No. 5 Princeton in the semifinals Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The winner will play either No. 6 Rutgers or No. 7 Cornell. Maryland defeated Princeton 15-10 earlier this season.
The Terrapins women’s team, meanwhile, advanced to the Final Four with an 18-5 win over Florida in the quarterfinals last Thursday. With a 19-1 record, the second-seeded Terrapins will play No. 3 Boston College in the semifinals Friday at 5 p.m. The winner will play either No. 1 North Carolina or No. 4 Northwestern.
Maryland is the only Division I school to have both its men’s and women’s teams in their respective Final Fours.
