I remember the Watergate scandal very well — and I especially recall the critical reactions of both Democratic and Republican leadership when apparent misconduct within the Nixon administration became know publicly through Senate hearings.

In fact, it was critical Republican leadership that ultimately led to the resignation of then-President Richard Nixon, also a Republican. Even much of the usually friendly Republican media turned against Nixon.

Now, with ongoing revelations of apparent misconduct within the Democratic Biden administration, it seems we see a different reaction from members of the accused political party. The Democratic leadership has circled the wagons and is standing shoulder to shoulder to defend or ignore any apparent misconduct.

Of course, the usually friendly Democratic media is on board defending the Biden administration.

In this situation, could it be that much of the Democratic leadership is simply driven by a “win at any cost,” “ends justify the means” attitude rather than objectivity about malfeasance?
