The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a fugitive at Washington Dulles International Airport on hit-and-run charges related to a 2014 incident in Reston.

The Fairfax County Police Department said Monday that suspect Enda Browne, 43, was arrested at Dulles on June 26.

Police said Mr. Browne originally fled the U.S. over a decade ago, but did not specify the country to which Mr. Browne fled or whether he was arriving from that country when arrested.

Mr. Browne, who is now being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, is charged with felony hit-and-run.

Police alleged that on Nov. 16, 2014, Mr. Browne, formerly of Herndon, hit an adult pedestrian with his Ford Focus while she was in the intersection of Virginia State Route 602 and Spectrum Center Drive in Reston.

The victim, who was not named publicly by police, suffered injuries that were originally designated as life-threatening before being downgraded.

Family members of the victim, who was 37 at the time, told FFXnow that she had to undergo multiple surgeries.

Her teenage daughter, who was accompanying her, was unhurt in the incident.

Authorities later found Mr. Browne and his car, and arrested him in January 2015, according to FFXnow.

He was released from custody after being charged and was due to appear in court on June 8, 2015, but never showed up, police said.
