Pop star Ariana Grande blasted the White House for using her song “Bye” in a TikTok video of ICE agents arresting and handcuffing illegal immigrants.
In the video, the White House said President Trump had delivered the most secure border in history. Ms. Grande responded by describing Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s actions as “barbaric, inhumane and heinous” and telling the administration not to use her music.
Ms. Grande closed her social media post with a blunt expletive: “f—- ice.”
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson pushed back, telling TMZ that what is truly barbaric are criminal illegal immigrants who have harmed American citizens.
Ms. Grande has a history of anti-ICE activism, including wearing an “ICE OUT” pin at the Golden Globes award show and sharing resources with her 363 million Instagram followers that include scripts for contacting senators and information on deportation defense hotlines.
She has joined many artists, including Adele, Beyonce, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, who have objected to the Trump administration using their music in its promotional content.
