OPINION:
The stunning news that no fewer than five incumbent Republican state senators in Indiana lost their primary elections to Trump-backed conservative candidates makes two things perfectly clear.
First, President Trump’s influence is ironclad, and his endorsement is golden. Second, “America First” conservatives are in no mood to sit back and let unhinged Democrats continue to rig the political playing field in America.
Things were going as planned for the radical left until Mr. Trump left his comfortable private life and got in the way.
President Biden greenlit a border invasion that paved the way for millions of people to enter our country illegally. Fatally flawed census rules were allowing illegal immigrants to be counted, and “Wild West”-style, fraud-prone voting systems were adopted as Democrats gleefully benefited from decades of illegal, racially gerrymandered congressional districts.
To put it bluntly, the situation had spiraled out of control.
Thankfully, Mr. Trump said enough is enough and opted to fix these country-defining issues. The president deeply believes, as we all should, that Americans deserve congressional maps that reflect the citizenry. They also deserve an accurate census and representation in Congress that prioritizes their wishes.
Mr. Trump is right as usual: The time for steel-spined leadership at all levels of government is now. Republicans must confront this disaster, and it starts with getting back to fair maps that don’t provide a built-in, unconstitutional tilt for Democrats.
Patriotic grassroots conservatives are sick and tired of entitled leftists benefiting from a broken status quo designed to systematically favor the left. In the age of Donald Trump, that failed mindset for Republicans has come to an end.
The results in Indiana are unmistakable. We must fight for our beloved constitutional republic by standing tall for commonsense reforms.
If Republicans choose to cower, then radical Democrats such as Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger — with the backing of former President Barack Obama and his “wingman” former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. — will do everything in their power to try to make sure Republicans lose the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives for good.
With conservative voters sending a crystal-clear signal in Indiana, the Virginia Supreme Court striking down the state’s recent redistricting referendum and the Supreme Court issuing its landmark decision in Louisiana v. Callais, invalidating racial gerrymandering as unconstitutional, the time is right to take the fight to the Trump-deranged leftists in the Democratic Party and win.
That is why Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama are redrawing their congressional maps to comply with the high court’s ruling as we speak, and they likely will not be the only ones.
We must all acknowledge that these aren’t normal times, which makes the results of the upcoming midterm elections all the more critical. Americans are coming to realize that the party trying to claw its way back to power, the Democratic Party, no longer acts in the best interests of this nation.
Sadly, today’s Democrats have chosen to do the bidding of globalists by adopting a socialist agenda that puts Americans last. Whether it is open borders, defunding police, suffocating taxes, abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, unchecked welfare programs or rooting against America on the world stage, Democrats have turned their backs on their fellow countrymen in favor of something downright sinister: foreign influence.
Americans are quickly coming to grips with the nightmare scenario of a Democratic majority in Congress. That is why Mr. Trump and so many other courageous Republican elected officials are acting with such urgency. Make no mistake about it: A Democratic-controlled Congress will set the stage for nonstop impeachment hoaxes, reopening the border, packing the Supreme Court, granting statehood to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, eliminating the Electoral College and, without question, nuking the Senate filibuster.
To put a fine point on it, Senate Republicans must wake up and follow the lead of Mr. Trump and Republican governors such as Ron DeSantis of Florida and Jeff Landry of Louisiana. It is time for the Senate to do its part by finally passing the SAVE America Act for starters and sending it to the president’s desk without further delay.
Republicans cannot give this crazed crop of Democrats any oxygen whatsoever. So it is time for a “Do it all, and do it now” approach. Redraw congressional maps, require voter ID, fix the census and save America with President Trump.
