Jimmy Kimmel said ABC will not air a new episode of his late-night talk show next Thursday during the final episode of CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” multiple news outlets report.

The host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has previously done this for other late-night hosts, such as David Letterman in 2015.

Mr. Kimmel is set to appear Monday on Mr. Colbert’s show with fellow hosts Seth Meyers (NBC’s “Late Night”), John Oliver (HBO’s “Last Week Tonight”) and Jimmy Fallon (NBC’s “The Tonight Show”).

Several entertainment and political figures have already made farewell appearances on “The Late Show,” including former President Barack Obama.

CBS announced in 2025 that “The Late Show” would end after its current season, citing financial reasons. Many in the industry speculated the decision was tied to pressure from the Trump administration.
