Comedian Carrot Top is thanking fans for their support after his recent hospitalization, and he is scheduled to return to the stage at Luxor in Las Vegas on Monday.

In an Instagram post, the performer, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, said he was “truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, prayers, and well wishes” he has received. He said every message and kind thought has meant more to him than people know. He acknowledged he has not been able to respond to everyone individually but said he has felt the support and is grateful to each person.

Mr. Thompson, 61, was hospitalized Sept. 18, and his show at Luxor that night was canceled. TMZ, citing unnamed sources, reported that he attempted suicide. His representative, Jami Schlicher, said he was recovering and receiving care but did not address the circumstances.

Two days later, Ms. Schlicher said Mr. Thompson was awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve. She said he had been reading messages from fans, including stories from people who said his comedy helped them through difficult periods.

Mr. Thompson is set to resume his residency at Luxor on Monday, according to Vital Vegas. He has performed at the resort since 2005.
