At the tail end of the flight from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu to Los Angeles International Airport, the plane dropped 8,800 feet in 2½ minutes, according to flight data cited by the New York Post.
“I was watching a movie, and all of a sudden, we just drop. And it felt like we dropped pretty far. It started shaking, everyone was yelling. We were all super scared,” passenger Marly Wadlington told KABC-TV.
None of the 190 passengers on board were injured; the crew numbered 10, United Airlines told KCBS-TV.
The plane ultimately landed safely in Los Angeles without any further incident at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday, according to FlightAware, at which point the injured flight attendants received treatment.
