Laura Owens, who pleaded guilty in Arizona in August to charges relating to fake pregnancy schemes against a former contestant on “The Bachelor” and another man, was sentenced to 30 days in jail Friday.

Owens pleaded guilty to two counts of fraudulent schemes and tricks and one count each of perjury and taking another person’s identity.

An additional 10 counts against her were dismissed as part of her plea deal. Its terms also guaranteed probation for one of the fraudulent scheme counts as well as the perjury and taking another person’s identity charges.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Rueter sentenced Owens to seven years of supervised probation for the two fraudulent scheme charges and to four years of supervised probation on the other two counts.

Her 30 days in the Maricopa County Jail start Friday and end Nov. 22.

She was also ordered to avoid contact with the victims.

Owens targeted Clayton Echard, who appeared on the 18th season of “The Bachelorette” and starred in the 26th season of “The Bachelor,” by claiming he fathered her child starting in 2023. She also targeted another man, Gregory Gillespie, in 2021.

As part of her false paternity claims, Owens used an ultrasound photo of twins and passed it off as her own. The image was originally uploaded to the personal blog of a mother who miscarried one of the twins.
