President Trump praised rapper Nicki Minaj’s backside Sunday at a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, telling the crowd he found her behind “beautiful.”
Earlier in the rally, while retelling a story about GOP Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio — whose rump also received the president’s admiration — Mr. Trump turned to Ms. Minaj, who was sitting in the audience.
“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before: Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss,” Mr. Trump told the crowd. He then asked her to stand and said, “I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted, but we love Nicki.”

Mr. Trump invited the rapper on stage near the end of his nearly two-hour speech at McMorran Place, where he was campaigning for Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers and gubernatorial nominee John James.
He commended her loyalty, stating that she has been “with us for a long time” and “with me from day one.”
“President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time,” said Ms. Minaj, whose song “Anaconda,” about her own rear end, was nominated for a Grammy in 2015.
Ms. Minaj, who has become one of Mr. Trump’s most prominent celebrity backers, returned the praise on stage, calling Mr. Trump a symbol of “resilience” and leading the crowd in a “We love Trump” chant.
She said the president “changed the energy of our country” and has “given us a future to look forward to.”
The event sparked further political buzz when White House communications director Steven Cheung shared a video Sunday of a mock job interview with Ms. Minaj aboard Air Force One, writing that the White House “may have found the new White House Press Secretary.”
After she finished giving her speech to the audience, Mr. Trump stated, “She never looked more beautiful.”
Beyond his remarks on her physique, Mr. Trump highly praised Ms. Minaj’s political alignment and star power.
He introduced the “Super Bass” singer as the “queen of rap” and joked about her popularity.
“You know, I don’t like being overshadowed, and this woman overshadows me, and I’m angry about it. They’re going crazy over her,” he quibbled.
As she left the stage, he told the crowd, “You see why everybody likes Nicki. She is a very, very special person.”
