Brazilian Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro and his family reached Miami on Wednesday after he lost Sunday’s presidential election to leftist incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The U.S. government will grant them entry visas after he refused to comply with a Brazilian Supreme Court order to surrender his passports.

He left Brazil in defiance of the court order, tied to a money-laundering investigation in which he denies wrongdoing.
