The U.S. military on Tuesday bombed a boat in the Eastern Pacific that it said was involved in drug trafficking.

The go-fast vessel was operating along established narcotics trafficking routes when it was hit. At least five people whom U.S. Southern Command officials identified as narco-terrorists were killed.

“Confirmed intelligence revealed the vessel’s active involvement in narco-trafficking,” the officials said in a statement.

At least 240 people have been killed or are presumed dead in U.S. military strikes on suspected drug-trafficking vessels. The mission began in September 2025 as part of an expanded counter-narcotics campaign directed by the Trump administration.

Most of the strikes have taken place in international waters along established maritime smuggling corridors in the Caribbean Sea and the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
