Some of President Trump’s top moments were his meetings with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, according to daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
She recounted Mr. Trump’s respect for the queen this week on her podcast, “The Right View,” tying it to his Scottish heritage on his mother’s side.
“He really, really found that visit — when our family got to go over to London and meet the Royal Family and meet the queen — to be one of the more incredible moments of his whole life, and I think a lot of that came from his mom,” Ms. Trump said.
Ms. Trump said her grandmother-in-law, Mary Anne Trump (born Mary Anne MacLeod), admired and talked frequently about the queen and “kind of modeled herself after” the woman who became Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
Mr. Trump met Queen Elizabeth twice during his first term, once in 2018 and again in 2019.
Elizabeth died in 2022 at age 96.
