OPINION:
As a former Democratic voter, I know that Democratic leaders embracing socialism are not going to relinquish those views before the midterms.
The Democratic Party’s credibility has eroded with its de facto embrace of democratic socialism. It has dropped its standards for selecting candidates way down. How can voters expect anything of substance? Extreme beliefs are now promoted as normal and mainstream.
This forces the Democrats into the Machiavellian political position of “The ends justify the means.” Their strategy consists of three main stages: deception, denial and division.
Deception includes claiming to be moderate but putting into place extreme liberal policies after election; the denial includes being adamant that policies such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) do not exclude people; and division comprises; and division comprises claiming that the current administration’s commonsense policies — such as the removal of illegal immigrants — are racist.
Our nation is a two-party system, but if the Democrats have concluded that embracing socialism and extremism in general means that the ends do indeed justify the means, then how can we unite to come up with solutions? The question is, have they reached the point of no political return?
