Elon Musk’s political vehicle, America PAC, is aiming nearly $1 million at critical midterm races in its first wave of spending.
On Wednesday night, the political action committee disclosed $800,000 in spending as it seeks to keep Senate seats Republican.
The group reported $248,000 to help Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton against Democrat James Talarico, $170,000 to assist Maine Sen. Susan Collins against Democrat Troy Jackson, and $106,000 to boost GOP Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio.
As Democrats need to net four seats to gain control of the Senate, a Republican victory in any of those states could deny them a path to a majority.
Amid high gasoline prices and negative polling on the administration’s handling of the war with Iran, Mr. Musk’s intervention is welcome news for the GOP in a difficult political environment.
Mr. Musk, the largest shareholder in Tesla, SpaceX and X, is the world’s wealthiest person. In June, Forbes declared he was the world’s first trillionaire.
The PAC is also spending over $90,000 against New Hampshire Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas, who is running for his party’s Senate nomination in the Granite State.
Additionally, Mr. Musk’s group is spending almost $100,000 combined in the Iowa, Michigan and Alaska Senate races.
America PAC spent more than $260 million in 2024 helping elect President Trump.
In the summer of 2025, Mr. Musk had a public falling out with the president after leaving the administration. The two later expressed regret over the feud and reconciled.
Outside of America PAC, the tycoon has backed Republicans by donating to the pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc.
Mr. Musk’s PAC is also devoting resources to House races. Democrats have an easier path to winning the House than the Senate in November.
Specifically, America PAC is spending to help out Pennsylvania Republican Reps. Scott Perry, Robert Bresnahan and Ryan Mackenzie.
Republican Reps. Thomas Kean of New Jersey, Michael Lawler of New York, Jennifer Kiggans of Virginia and Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin also received support in their reelection bids.
Mr. Musk’s group is also targeting Florida’s 25th Congressional District, which has been redrawn to favor Republicans.
Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz, who was drawn out of his previous district, is facing Scott Singer, the former mayor of Boca Raton.
The Cook Political Report rates only 21 of 435 House races as toss-ups in November.
