While the Washington Times perfunctorily reported “Fuel prices at record Labor Day high in U.S. thanks to Iran war and refinery issues” (Web, Sept. 7), most of the legacy media cannot help itself from pimping for the Democrats and engaging in the ad-nauseam reporting of “record” gasoline prices.

The mainstream press seems to have forgotten that the Democrats pushed the national average for gasoline to $4.71 in June 2022 and inflation to 9.1% for the purpose of forcing Americans into electric vehicles and justifying expensive renewable energy — all in conformance to presidential candidate Barack Obama’s 2008 plan to “skyrocket” electricity rates.

Fearing political backlash in the 2022 midterms, Democrats drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to artificially lower energy prices before the election.

Informed Americans may consider that President Trump inherited the cumulative effects of Bidenflation, Russian aggression in Ukraine, China’s ambitions on Taiwan and Iran’s sponsorship of world terrorism.

At the same time, Mr. Trump is attempting to mitigate effects on energy costs and inflation to the point of seizing Venezuelan oil.

But the legacy media is hoping that short memories and enough repetitive brainwashing will get distracted Americans to return to disastrous Obabidenomics and open borders.

Democratic socialists would double down on insurrectionist initiatives and promises of freebies for all despite the pending insolvency of Social Security. As always, communism depends on the seizure of other people’s money — until other people’s money runs out or leaves the building.
