ABC will not extend late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s contract beyond 2027 following months of criticism from President Trump, the New York Post’s Page Six reports.
Citing a source familiar with the situation, the gossip column said the current 24th season of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will be its last.
The source told Page Six that “his contract is not getting extended,” noting Mr. Kimmel signs one-year deals with the Disney-owned network.
An ABC Entertainment spokesperson pushed back, telling The Hill that the Page Six report is “inaccurate” and that “any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”
Mr. Kimmel is a frequent critic of Mr. Trump and has sparred with him repeatedly during his second term.
Page Six’s report follows Stephen Colbert’s exit from CBS’ “The Late Show” in May after his own clashes with Mr. Trump.
Disney previously halted production of Mr. Kimmel’s show last year after Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group pulled it from their ABC affiliates.
That move came after Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr threatened action against the network over remarks Mr. Kimmel made about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
