Jayden Daniels went home Sunday. And he brought gifts -- a 27-10 win over the carpetbagging Los Angeles Chargers that reminded anyone who forgot that he is the sun around which all Washington Commanders planets revolve.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium certainly was open Sunday and cooking, frying the Commanders' carcass. It wasn't a full helping, though. Everyone in an NFL football operation is under pressure. But I think coach Dan Quinn and the Commanders are under even more now, with the presence of Jayden Daniels. Like Uncle Ben told Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy #15, "With great power comes great responsibility."

LOVERRO: Add Parsons to the litany of boneheaded Jerry Jones moves

The part of the whole Dallas Cowboys trade of Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers that fascinates me the most is that the richest franchise on the planet owned by a high-profile billionaire oilman in the ninth largest city in the country traded its best player to a team whose owners can be found throughout the local phone book in a city that isn't even ranked in the top 100 in the United States.

I pulled this book off my shelf for summer reading -- "The Man To See: Edward Bennett Williams, Ultimate Insider; Legendary Trial Lawyer," published in 1991 and written by Evan Thomas, a journalist, historian, lawyer, and author of 11 books, including two New York Times bestsellers.
