A Florida woman was arrested Friday after allegedly making a social media post threatening to shoot President Trump just hours before his campaign rally in Daytona Beach.

Allison Albro, 21, of Daytona Beach was arrested after posting the alleged threat on social media late Thursday, according to Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood.

“Going to the Trump rally in my city [tomorrow] so I can shoot him with my glock!” the post read with an emoji covering the word “shoot.” “Wish me luck guys!”

She also posted a selfie with the caption, Mr. Chitwood said in a statement.

Ms. Albro was arrested on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device. State prosecutors have asked for her to be held for pretrial detention, and the judge is holding her without bond, according to court documents.

When Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Secret Service agents spoke with Ms. Albro, she told them that she was “joking,” doesn’t have access to weapons and would never harm anyone, according to Mr. Chitwood.

“I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a ’joke’ along these lines to think twice,” he said.

Mr. Trump is holding a midterm rally Friday night in Daytona Beach aimed at boosting the midterm campaigns of Sen. Ashley Moody and gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds, both Republicans.
