“We are closer than any other Democrat has been in a decade, and we helped to inspire record turnout with neighbors who sat out election after election and decided this one was worth winning,” Mr. Gendebien said.
While he said he does not plan to concede before every vote is counted, “it appears that Anthony Constantino will narrowly win.”
In Mr. Constantino’s obscenity-laced victory speech Tuesday night, in which he targeted reporters, he took aim at what he called the “evil news media.”
“Listen, you scumbags, telling people the truth is the right thing to do when I expose my full number just to say that, in fact, I had to listen to you a———- say dairy farmer Blake Gendebien, he’s not a dairy farmer. His parents were dairy farmers. All his neighbors told me this guy never gets on a tractor, ever. He doesn’t show up. His parents did it. He can’t even say what percent of the farm he owns,” he said. “But you wouldn’t say that because you’re a bunch of f——— a———-.”
He blamed those who are not “bad people” in the “evil media” for failing to “expose the bad ones amongst you.
“You all stayed quiet. Look at that a——— right there. Him. Look at that guy. Take a picture of him. He was like, ’I’m not evil.’ Did you ever expose any bad thing the other evil media was doing? A—hole,” he said. “You didn’t do anything. You’re a bunch of a———-.”
Mr. Constantino then singled out 7 News reporter Garrett Domblewski, according to the local outlet.
He ordered the journalist to leave and led the crowd in a chant, “Kick him out. Kick him out.”
Security guards escorted Mr. Domblewski out of the building.
While he was led outside, Mr. Constantino and the crowd chanted, “F—- the evil media.”
