PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Prescott say an officer is OK after a suspect dragged him in his vehicle while trying to flee.

The department says officers were called to investigate a suspicious car in the parking lot of church on Tuesday. Officers found 34-year-old Brian Booth in the car with drug paraphernalia in plain sight.

Police say they tried arresting Booth and removing him from the vehicle but that he fled, dragging an officer. The officer was able to free himself form the car and wasn’t seriously injured.

Booth was found at an apartment complex later that evening. He was arrested after a short standoff and booked on charges of aggravated assault, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
