GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Police say an officer was injured when he was dragged while leaning into a car whose driver tried to drive away.
Gloucester Township Officer Craig Walsh pulled up to a vehicle parked in a motel parking lot late Wednesday night.
As Walsh leans into the passenger side of the car, video footage released by police shows the driver suddenly accelerate in reverse. The officer was dragged about 50 feet before the car crashed into a tree.
Walsh called for assistance, and two 17-year-olds were taken into custody. Their names have not been released because of their ages.
Walsh sustained injuries to his head, arm, ankle and knee.
Police say they found a small amount of marijuana and a scale in the vehicle.
