PHOENIX (AP) - Two brothers who pleaded guilty in the murder of a man in his Glendale apartment nearly four years ago have been both sentenced to long prison terms.
State prosecutors say Enrique Luna received a 23-year prison sentence to run consecutive to the term he’s currently serving on an armed robbery and aggravated assault case.
Luna’s younger brother - 22-year-old Israel Carrasco - was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
The brothers were accused in the January 2016 death of 21-year-old Christopher Gonzales Cummings.
Authorities say the two men and third suspect who’s still at large went to Cummings’ apartment to rob him, but the victim wound up dead.
The brothers were arrested in 2017 and prosecutors say Luna admitted to fatally shooting Cummings.
Luna and Carrasco pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case last month.
